What is CDN?

A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is one or more servers geographically dispersed to provide space for your content’s static files, such as images, cascading style sheets, or JavaScript files. This network then brings your content closer to site visitors.

Copies of content files are then globally distributed to these servers  (blue dots in the picture on the right) and once a person from New York, Prague or Sydney enters your website, the data is loaded from the CDN server with closest geolocation, thus page load speed will be similar across the globe.

Even if your site is within the same state/country as your visitors and you do not need this service, search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing and others will still positively evaluate this feature of your website.

We will create a copy of your website and run tests on this copy before replicating the optimized configuration back to your live website. If there are any differences in settings due to the configuration of your hosting servers, we will make sure your site runs as it should and, that any service interruptions related to upgrades made by us, are kept to a minimum. Your original site will be backed up and if any issue can’t be resolved quickly, then your original site will be quickly restored

We will need administrator credentials to log in to WordPress, the database, and to access FTP. If you want us to implement CDN, then we will need a few details about site traffic from you. Before ordering this service, we can agree on signing an non-disclosure agreement.
