Don’t forget that a good quality video must include subtitles that are used as CCs across all platforms. Once your subtitles are generated, you then need to take the time and create a transcript from them for channels like YouTube. Don’t forget to add hashtags to your text. You’ll also enter them into the Tags category when uploading your video.

A good quality video must include subtitles that are used as CCs across all platforms. All major platforms allow you to upload a *.srt file. For some, such as Facebook, you must change the file name to indicate language. Facebook will tell you the right format, but for US English, this must me “xxxxx.en_US”.  Properly corrected SRT file will make automatic subtitle translations soooo much easier and better.

And Yes, You Do Need Transcripts

Once your subtitles are generated, you then need to take the time and create a transcript from them. You will use that in the description below the video on YouTube. When uploading to YouTube, don’t forget to also add a few hashtags in the text, possibly links to other content. Also, enter the hashtags you selected into the Tags category when uploading your video.
